The SBIR
program, sponsored
by 11 federal
agencies, is a
highly successful
program which spends
over $3 billion
on technology research
annually. The program's
purpose is to develop
and commercialize new
technologies that enable
the U.S. to maintain its
technological competency
for defense readiness. |
|
. |
|
Through this program,
small technology
businesses can secure up
to $850,000 in federal
funding for research and
development projects.
They can then leverage
those funds into
partnerships with
research institutions,
universities and
manufacturers to
commercialize new
technologies. |
| |
|
Eleven federal
agencies participate
in the SBIR/STTR
programs. Each
federal agency
issues at least one
solicitation per
year. |
