What are SBDCs?

.

Small Business Development Centers (SBDC's) are funded by the US Small Business Administration to support the growth and health of small businesses across the United States. SBDC's provide professional, confidential business counseling and affordable training services to small businesses and their management staff. SBDCs are normally located within universities and colleges; they employ highly qualified professional consultants who have business experience and/or specialized expertise in addition to their academic degrees. The network of 1,100 SBDC centers span the entire United States and it's territories.

The loss of business from base closure - and the opportunities for new business from base expansion - create challenges for local businesses.

.

The best place to start is with your local Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

.

SBDCs are funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration to provide expertise, information, consulting services, and training to small business owners, so they can be more successful.  All counseling is confidential and provided at no cost to the business owner.  There is a nominal fee for workshops and seminars.
All SBDC counselors are knowledgeable about the local community and the resources available to small businesses.
